"Questo volto è sulla facciata di Palazzo Vecchio, in basso a destra, dietro il gruppo scultoreo di Ercole e Caco.
La tradizione vuole sia stata scolpita da Michelangelo per scommessa, scolpendo senza vedere con le mani dietro la schiena. Pare si tratti del ritratto di un prigioniero che veniva portato alla gogna che passava in quel momento per Piazza della Signoria. "
